There are larger new yellows, but certainly there are none so near the ideal in clear rich color. The tone deepens at the haft, due partly to the vivid orange beard. Stems seen last season were three feet in height and finely branched. While not a large iris, Golden Hind is sufficient in size to merit a place amongst the most recent sorts."

A deep, rich, buttercup yellow self, it is the last word in pure coloring. It is of medium height, large size and unusually heavy substance.
