Red Butterfly Linse, R. 1955 I. 1956 TB 40" M From Easy Breeze Iris Gardens catalog for 1956: "An arrangers iris deluxe! Of good size, but not huge, it has rose-red standards and falls of white, lined dahlia purple. The beard is golden brown with a white area about it, the lines radiate out from this to near the edge of the falls, which are margined dark lilac-purple, near black. The haft edges are barium yellow. This, then, is a larger Butterfly Wings done in red, white and gold, with fine clear colors. It has a beautiful four way branched stalk, is a real husky grower and fertile both ways." (Butterfly Wings X Spellbound) |
