Vanity
B. Hager, 1974

TB 36" ML, From Schreiner's Iris Lovers catalog for 1981: "Blush pink combined with a cream complexion aptly describes this light pink, while a slight ruffling characterizes the nicely placed and precisely styled florets. Vanity is an extremely prodigious bloomer, often averaging two or three stems per rhizome. While taking the photograph for the picture shown at right [in the catalog], we were pleasantly surprised to find this to be one of the few modern Iris that has a distinctly pleasant fragrance."

(Cherub Choir X Pink Taffeta), HM 1976, AM 1978, Dykes Medal 1982.

Note: Vanity is also the parent of 1985 Dykes Medalist Beverly Sills (Pink Pirouette X Vanity).
